Aiana was invited by her best friend (our neighbor) and her family to sail to Catalina for a week! I was (and still am) nervous about Aiana getting sea sick. They left the other day from San Diego to head up to Oceanside. Will sailed with them for the day trip and the girls, my mom, and I met up with them in Oceanside that evening. Aiana seemed to be feeling ok, just pretty tired. We all had dinner together before they took off for Catalina. I’ll have more to report next week when they return!

After our day on the lake we drove to Moro Bay to spend a couple nights at Franklin’s family’s beach house. We survived the 2 hour drive talking the whole time about cows and cows pooping! I just don’t know what it is about 3 yr olds and poop…anyway…
It was good to get back to the kids. They did great with the babysitters; however, later that day Caylin threw up all over Will. That was the beginning of what I guess was a little flu bug? I was worried because we were driving home the next day. She seemed to be ok by the morning, so we continued with our plans to drive home. We drove for about an hour and stopped when Caylin began to complain about her tummy. We pulled over to play at the park for a while. There was a little lake at the park with geese and ducks. I enjoyed watching the girls feed the birds and run from the aggressive geese.
After this we managed to drive a few more hours to Santa Barbra before Caylin began to complain again. This was a great stop. Santa Barbra is beautiful. We had a picnic on the beach and enjoyed a live concert given by the local homeless band. They lip sank to 50’s music and played on a keyboard made out of cardboard, microphone that was a lantern, and a guitar made from material with pink feathers all over it. The rest of the drive home was, well, it had it’s moments but we didn’t have to stop anymore. We were happy to get home, but we were exhausted. Anika came down with a cold and we’ve spent the rest of the week trying to get through that. It was all worth it though, we had a great time!
