These photos are just cracking me up! Anika went for a ride in the "cozy coupe" today....

Since we returned from our trip, Anika has been fighting an ear infection and not sleeping too well (actually both little girls are not sleeping well). So we have been staying home, which has made for some very long days. We filled our day with some outdoor fun by painting the sidewalk with water. It was so cute to see Anika crawling around and playing with sister. Toward the end of this little paint session, Caylin turned on the water to fill the bucket but didnt realize that Anika was right behind her. Anika was covered in water and dirt. While I cleaned Anika up, Caylin decided to clean tookie's (the bird) cage all by herself, and I must say, she did a pretty good job! Both girls went straight to the tub afterwards. They are able to bath together now which is fun.
Big sis, Aiana, is away this week with Mimi camping in Big Bear. If we werent having such a rough week with colds and sleeping I would have loved to drive up there with the little ones. I just got a call from Aiana and she was getting ready to go jet skiing! FUN! I'm jealous!!

After our day on the lake we drove to Moro Bay to spend a couple nights at Franklin’s family’s beach house. We survived the 2 hour drive talking the whole time about cows and cows pooping! I just don’t know what it is about 3 yr olds and poop…anyway…
It was good to get back to the kids. They did great with the babysitters; however, later that day Caylin threw up all over Will. That was the beginning of what I guess was a little flu bug? I was worried because we were driving home the next day. She seemed to be ok by the morning, so we continued with our plans to drive home. We drove for about an hour and stopped when Caylin began to complain about her tummy. We pulled over to play at the park for a while. There was a little lake at the park with geese and ducks. I enjoyed watching the girls feed the birds and run from the aggressive geese.
After this we managed to drive a few more hours to Santa Barbra before Caylin began to complain again. This was a great stop. Santa Barbra is beautiful. We had a picnic on the beach and enjoyed a live concert given by the local homeless band. They lip sank to 50’s music and played on a keyboard made out of cardboard, microphone that was a lantern, and a guitar made from material with pink feathers all over it. The rest of the drive home was, well, it had it’s moments but we didn’t have to stop anymore. We were happy to get home, but we were exhausted. Anika came down with a cold and we’ve spent the rest of the week trying to get through that. It was all worth it though, we had a great time!
