Beautiful sunset

After getting Aiana off to church and Anika to bed, Caylin and I were getting ready to color. As we walked out into the back living room, Caylin gasped and said "OHHHHHHH Booodifull" and ran out to the deck. This is what she saw and was so excited about.

While we were out there, we saw our friendly hawk that likes to perch on our deck and Caylin said "Oh man, I dont want that spiegle to bite me".

Here are some shots of Anika before she went to bed, showing off her blue eyes and new pearly whites.

Catching up

I havent had much time to update our blog. Anika is teething big time, she has 4 theeth coming in all at once, plus she has a cold. Those two together are causing her to be VERY grumpy! She calms down when we go for a walk or play outside. When she doesnt calm down I just put her to bed. I'm also discovering that Anika is a tantrumer...is that a word?...When she's upset, she screams and throws herself on the ground. Not a good sign since she's not even one yet! Man! She is a sweetie but definately feisty.
We took the kids to Disneyland last Tuesday. We had a blast! All Caylin could talk about was seeing the princesses, she was so excited to see Sleeping Beauty's castle, but we couldnt find any princesses. Aiana was excited to ride Space Mountain, and Thunder Mountain, she just recently overcame her fear of roller coasters...I was just as excited as she was! The wait time for rides was only 5 minutes. It was a perfect day! We never did get to meet any of the princesses, we found out later there is a specific area we had to go to see them, but when we got there they were closed. Good thing Caylin didnt know about it yet. She did get to see them in the parade.

Some of the cute things that came out of Caylin's mouth:

1. When we arrived at Disneyland, we told Caylin to keep her eye out for the princesses. When we turned to look at her she looked very concerned and said "You want me to take my eye out?"

2. When I asked her if she wanted to ride Dumbo, she told me "You cant ride it because your bottom wont fit."

Over the weekend we celebrated my brother's 30th birthday. We took him and his wife out to dinner downtown to the Ocean Room. We went to dinner at 7:30pm and were ready to head home by 10:30. I cant believe my friends and I didnt even leave the house until at least 10:30pm to hit the town (before kids)! I was feeling pretty old! I had a great time with my bro! Check out these photos of my brother and I.

Cute little monkeys...

I met up with some of my very talented friends the other day to shoot some photos for their etsy web stores. Tutu Monkey is already up and running (check out her adorable tutu's and noggin toppers). Dulce Bebe and My Little Buttercup will be up soon (right ladies?).

Now, I just had to share some of the photos...

Beatin' the heat

It's HOT today!
Luckily it's been a pretty laid back day, I never know how the heat is going to affect the girls. They had a blast splashing around in the pool...Anika has now been napping for about 2 hours...
Caylin...no nap, but playing babies and school (so cute!).

Sunday Night Bonfire

I have been wanting to do a bonfire all summer long, and here it is now Fall and we finally pulled it of last night. We gathered around our fire pit with our friends, roasted weenies and marshmallows, and watched our kids fill their pants and hair with sand, it was great! There's something so cozy about being on the beach at night when it's a little chilly and warming up to a nice fire. We can't wait to do it again!

Family Fun

We had a lot of fun with Aiana's soccer team this weekend. It was the annual daughter vs. parent game followed by a BBQ. I loved watching the girls laugh so hard!
Oh the days of red rover

Moms Night Out!

I think it is so important for moms to get some time away! Friday night I was able to do that with a fabulous group of friends. It's amazing how many hours us ladies can spend chatting, laughing, ...and well, dancing too!
