Does Jesus have a sheepstick?

Caylin often wonders where God is. We talk about God being everywhere, and in our hearts. Caylin also is familiar with stories about sheep and shepherds (which adds to her comment below).

Tonight while I was making dinner, Caylin looked at me with a very inquisitive look (eyes and forehead scrunched up) and asked "are there sheeps and Jesus in our hearts?".

"Sheeps?" I asked. "yeah, sheeps" she said.

After we talked about Jesus being in our hearts, but not sheep, she then asked "Does Jesus have a sheepstick in our hearts?".

I can only imagine what is going through her little mind, picturing Jesus with a staff in our hearts.

Got Crabs?

So, we love crab dinners, but our crab dinners would not be complete without the tradition of letting the crabs crawl around the grass before cooking them. This all started when Aiana was little. She got such a kick out of these crazy looking creatures crawling around. Now Caylin and Anika love it. Caylin pets them and trys to feed them leaves too. Kind of weird, I know....

Finally!!!

My head is clear again! We (the girls and I) have been fighting a nasty cold for about 2 1/2 weeks and today is the first day I can breath normally again! I thought Anika was going to need to see the Doctor when she woke up with goopy eyes yesterday, but she's all clear today. So I think we are on our way to wellness again. Thank goodness! Aiana almost missed winter camp over this past weekend, but she stayed home from school on Friday and slept. She was well enough to go to camp. I am so glad, she really did not want to miss out. She took some sudafed with her and that helped her get through the weekend. She had a great time (as usual).

The little girls and I definitely have cabin fever and cant wait to get out and play again! We've been keeping ourselves busy by playing outside in the pool, making Valentines, and making mess after mess. But we miss our buddies and cant wait to play!

Bye bye "doo doo"

When Caylin was learning to say sister she couldn't say her s's, so it would come out something like "dit too". As she got more familiar with the sound, she said it faster and it came out as "doo doo". Even after Caylin was able to make the s sound, she still called Aiana "doo doo". None of us thought anything about "doo doo" other than it was a cute nick name, until someone outside of the family would hear it and laugh as "doo doo" sounds like, well, you know. Aiana would say "why doo doo!".

I've noticed lately that Caylin hasn't been referring to Aiana as "doo doo" anymore. She now just calls her by name.

Anika is now learning how to say sister and seems to not have a problem with the s sound. She simply is beginning to refer to Aiana as "sssssissssss", and I'm sure Aiana is not going to reinforce "doo doo". Sooooo, sad to say, the season of "doo doo" has come to an end and is now going down in the books as a sweet memory. As for Aiana's thoughts on the whole thing....good riddance! :)

Fun at the aquarium

Well the sunshine has gone for now and the rain (sprinkles) is here. I figured it was a perfect day to visit the aquarium. We haven't been since last year when we went with Grandma Airdrie and Anika was only a couple weeks old. Now Anika was up and walking all over the place. There is a little area outside with a tide pool and a pile of toy sea creatures that Caylin LOVES to play with. She could spend hours just playing with these little creatures. A couple things I love about the aquarium is the amazing location and view (gorgeous even when it's raining), and visiting the Sea Dragons. These creature are just amazing to me!

This is where Anika could have played for hours.

Beautiful Jelly Fish and Cool Sea Dragons!

These guys were bringing back memories of scuba diving in Moorea!

Biking with daddy

Last week daddy took Caylin for a ride in the bike trailer to Sea World. I was a little nervous about the long ride, but Caylin did great and even took a little snooze on the way there. They had breakfast with Elmo and friends. Anika and I met up with them after breakfast and said hello to our buddy Shamu and Corkey.

Gorgeous evening at the beach

Last night I went to photograph my girlfriend, her mother, and daughter. My mom and the girls came along to play on the beach. I still cant believe how warm it is this January! The beach was awesome! We ended the session with a beautiful sunset. Caylin and her buddy ran around in the sand, they would have been happy to spend the whole night there!
