Friday Flashback

I was cleaning through one of my piles of pictures and came across these photos of Aiana and I. Man, the days of one child were so different than my current days with 3 children (not bad, just different).

Man, I look young in these pictures...Man...I was young!

I also found this photo of Aiana and Will...so sweet!

Back to the Doc...

Well it was back to the doctor again today. Caylin's cough hadn't been getting better and then a fever kicked in. After the second day of the fever I decided to take her in. We had an x-ray done which showed a bit of infection in her lung. So she is being treated for walking pneumonia by antibiotic and an inhaler. She has a horrible time at night coughing. Tonight is the first night she has a short coughing spell and is now sleeping.

Anika finishes up her antibiotic for a sinus infection on Saturday but came down with another cold yesterday. Runny nose and light fever. There are so many people fighting this yucky virus right now, and I can not wait until we are all well again!!!

Nose Dive :(

Anika took her first nose dive off the curb right onto the street. It was so sad to pick her up and see a bloody little face. Luckily she only scraped the skin on her nose, all else was ok.
I remember Caylin's first big boo boo. She was about 6 months old. She fell out of the stroller onto the asphalt. She had a big bump on her forehead.
Aiana, well, she was my first and only for a long time...she just never got hurt! :)
Thank goodness children are so resilient!

Love is in the air....

We kicked off our Valentine holiday with our friends this weekend. We enjoyed a Valentine brunch complete with chocolate chip pancakes and valentines. The kids had a great time running around, playing hide and seek, making crafts, and passing out valentines to one another.

(Here's Caylin 2 years ago...man our group has grown in the past 2 years! So many more babies :) )

I was thinking back to the Valentines party 2 years ago when I could hardly enjoy myself because Caylin was in the height of her aggressive stage. Now she is running around with her buddies and having a great time.

Anika is at the age Caylin was when she began biting, but, thank goodness, she is not as aggressive. She does get very excited with smaller babies and shows her excitement by (not so gently) patting them on the head or in the face. We are working on "nice touch". Anika says "niiiiiie" and continues to "pat".

1st Dental Visit Success!

Caylin had her first dental visit today with Dr. Job. We have been preparing for this visit for a long time by "playing dentist" so Caylin was very excited today for her real dental visit. She picked out a pretty dress and matching flower. She got dressed right when she woke up. She also put on her robe but told me that she had to take it off before going to the dentist because "dentist don't like wobes".

When we got to the office Caylin was thrilled to be offered a snack and water...and a new toothbrush to brush her teeth. We were both excited to see our friend Karie who works in the office!

Hands up for a fun ride!

Karie helped Caylin pick out a fun movie to watch during her visit and got her comfy in the chair complete with a pink pillow to prop her legs. The whole exam went super! Caylin was so patient and Dr. Job was awesome! Best of all, no cavities! Caylin walked out of the office with a huge smile and a bag FULL of goodies!

After the dentist we headed to the Doctor for Anika who has a cold she just cant seem to shake. Thank goodness for the treat bag from Dr. Job which kept the girls busy in the Dr's office! As it turns out, that nasty cold resulted in a sinus infection...which means...antibiotics. I'm not looking forward to the battle ahead of trying to get Anika to take meds...But yay for wellness!

Anika was not happy to hear she has a sinus infection and will now need to be on antibiotics.

Does Jesus have a sheepstick?

Caylin often wonders where God is. We talk about God being everywhere, and in our hearts. Caylin also is familiar with stories about sheep and shepherds (which adds to her comment below).

Tonight while I was making dinner, Caylin looked at me with a very inquisitive look (eyes and forehead scrunched up) and asked "are there sheeps and Jesus in our hearts?".

"Sheeps?" I asked. "yeah, sheeps" she said.

After we talked about Jesus being in our hearts, but not sheep, she then asked "Does Jesus have a sheepstick in our hearts?".

I can only imagine what is going through her little mind, picturing Jesus with a staff in our hearts.
